Ex-Perm Sec Returns Government Properties

The former Permanent Secretary of the state house, Mr Nebolisa Emordi, has returned on two official cars and Villa identity card with him as he leaves office.

PMNews reports that Emordi gave the official properties to the Director of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), in a brief ceremony held in his former office yesterday, Wednesday, November 11.

The former permanent secretary who was a civil servant for 31 years was one of the permanent secretaries retired by President Muhammadu Buhari on the eve of the inauguration of his 36 new ministers. After thanking President Buhari, an emotional Emordi said:

“I will continue to fervently pray for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts to correct the various ills that are facing the nation,” he said.

He further praised Buhari by saying he is a rare leader. He explained that he is returning the public property in his possession for accountability mantra in which the present administration is known for. He apologized to the workers who he might have offended in the course of his service, he also prayed for God’s guidance for those affected in the pursuit of future goals.
“I have enjoyed working in the State House with all the issues, handling human beings, some pleasant
experiences and some not very pleasant experiences. But that is life and we took it in our stride and tried to do our best; so, I want to plead with you to extend the same level of corporation that you have accorded me to the in-coming permanent secretary.”
NAN reports that the new Acting Permanent Secretary, Jalal Arabi, had assumed duties.
Following the sack of 17 permanent secretaries, President Buhari announced the names of the new replacements for the federal government. 
The total number of new appointees is 54, which includes 18 in the Federal Civil Service.
