A Nigerian who had enough guts to steal an airport taxi and drive away in India is being made to pay for his folly.
Ibrahim Abdullah, a Nigerian student, stole an airport taxi in India and is now in hot soup over the act.
India Today reports that Abdullahi who stole the airport taxi and
drove all over Bengaluru in an inebriated condition, was arrested by the
city police near the Hosur Road toll gate on Sunday.
According to the police, Abdullah (33), a BBM student, drove away
the airport taxi on Saturday night when the driver had parked it on the
roadside at Bilekahalli junction.
It is said that Abdullah was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the crime.
The taxi driver immediately informed his employers, who tracked the
movement of the car, as it was GPS-enabled. The matter was brought to
the notice of the police, who pursued Abdullah. The Nigerian drove the
car all over the city and hoodwinked the police chasing him.
Eventually, they managed to catch him near Electronics City on Hosur Road around 5:30 am Sunday.
Abdullah, who was still in a drunken stage, reportedly told the
police that he had stolen the car for fun. The police found out that his
visa had expired in January this year.
The police arrested him and booked multiple cases against him.
