In a statement by spokesperson of the Nigeria police force, Olabisi Kolawole, the police said two suicide bombers – a male and a female carried out the attack.

She said the inspector general of police, Solomon Arase has also ordered a massive stop and search in and around the Federal Capital Territory.

“Nigeria will not accommodate terrorists’ acts,” Arase said.
He also said that an immediate deployment of police explosives ordinance disposal units to the scenes has been ordered to prevent further destruction.
Meanwhile, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA has said that 15 people were killed and 41 others injured and evacuated to Nyanya, Asokoro General hospital and National hospital in Abuja.
Also, Naij.com gathered that out of the 15 that have been confirmed dead, six were already deposited at the Asokoro General hospital by Nigerian officials.
