In what I hope shines a light on something that is all too common and not discussed nearly enough, Hayden Panettiere’s postpartum depression has gotten so bad that she has checked herself into an in-patient treatment program. Juliette Barnes, the character that Hayden plays on Nashville, is currently going through a similar battle on the show.
Hayden, 26, recently appeared on Live! With Kelly and Michael and shared, “It’s something a lot of women experience. When [you’re told] about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child.’ I’ve never, ever had those feelings. Some women do. But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.”
In 2013, Hayden announced her engagement to Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko, 39. The couple’s daughter Kaya Evdokia was born in December of 2014.
As recently as the weekend, Hayden tweeted about her postpartum body — and even though it was a seemingly positive post, it shows how much she’s been struggling and this has been weighing on her mind.

I give Hayden so much credit for her bravery in getting help — it
obviously cannot be easy since she’s leaving her baby to do so — but
will be so worth it.
