Governor Seriake Dickson
The organization urged security operatives in the state to be on high alert and hold Dickson responsible in event of any breakdown of law and order which could arise from the planned protest, Daily Independent reports.
Sylva camp’s statement read in part: “This campaign began before Sylva’s emergence as the APC governorship candidate, and it was clearly purposed to ensure that APC presented a candidate that would give Dickson an easy victory.

“Having failed in the bid to manipulate the emergence of an APC candidate that can be defeated, and realising the fact of Dickson’s imminent loss at the 5 December poll, the embattled governor and his party have deployed everything at their disposal to try to denigrate Sylva’s candidacy.
“They have packaged a multi-billion naira media campaign, not to tell the world what Dickson has done and can do for Bayelsa, but to try to vilify Sylva.”
In a related development, the chairman of APC in Rivers state, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, has cautioned the acting national chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus to cease his attack on Rotimi Amaechi, the immediate past governor of the state or get ‘exposed’.
This latest warning is coming on the heel of another attack said to have been launched by Secondus on Amaechi when he received Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s report on how to reform and reposition the main opposition party ahead of 2019 general elections.

Ikanya said: We appreciate the agony of Prince Uche Secondus, one of the key architects of PDP’s loss of power after 16 years of misrule. We also understand his frustration in his very difficult assignment of reinventing PDP, a party the death of which he and some other tin gods caused by frustrating Amaechi and other progressives who were the souls of PDP out of the party.
“Though we do not intend to go into details of what Prince Uche Secondus and other inner caucus members did to force Amaechi out of the party, we will like to caution him to stop further disparaging of Amaechi as any further attack on Amaechi will force us to alert the world on who Prince Secondus truly is. We wish to warn him that enough is enough.”
