Lionel Messi lasted just 10 minutes of Barcelona’s Liga match against Las Palmas before being withdrawn with a knee injury.
The Argentina forward had to be replaced by Munir El Haddadi at Camp Nou after he succumbed to a knee problem.
There are suggestions that Messi could be missing for three weeks with a medial ligament injury.
Messi has now been taken to hospital for tests.
As reported by Catalan daily Sport:
” Now it’s a case of waiting to see the extent of Messi’s knee injury. He has already been taken to hospital for tests to determine the damage done — everyone associated with Barcelona will have their fingers crossed. “
Barca’s all-time record goalscorer appeared to jar his left knee when having a shot blocked by a Las Palmas defender.
Messi tried to carry on but was unable to continue and went straight down the tunnel after being taken off by coach Luis Enrique.
