Three security guards,
including an octogenarian, were on Wednesday charged before an Igbosere
Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, with stealing properties worth N1.5 million.
The accused, Ebenize Okpara (86), Joseph Akuwugwu (38) and Kenneth Ukaegbu (33) are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
Okpara resides at No. 10, Owurin St., ikotun Ijegun; Akuwugwu, resides at No. 6, Okerin St., Oworo and Ukaegbu, resides at No. 13, Femi Pears Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Prosecutor, Esther Adesulu, told the court that the accused and some others still at large, committed the offences between August 28 and August 29, at 10:55 p.m, at No. 9, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Adesulu said that the accused broke into the residence of one Ademola Edu and stole his electronics and phones valued at N1.5 million.
The prosecutor said the suspects "stole a Samsung 3D Flat Screen 55 inch TV, two LG 47 inch TVs, an iPad, two iPhones and one iPod."
Adesulu said that the offences contravened Sections 285 (1), 305 (c) and 409, of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, F. F George granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case to October 22 for mention.
